How it works

UMRR-0A is a 24GHz Radar sensor projecting a low power microwave beam on the road and capturing all objects within its coverage. The applied Radar principle allows real time direct measurement of ange, speed and azimuth angle of all reflectors simultaneously. Detection happens far out at long range (240m) and 20 times per second, the data are tracked (filtered) over time. As a result all bjects in the field of view will be reliably detected and reported withexcellent precision.Installation is possible at road side, at the corner of an intersection,on a mast arm or gantry directly on top of the road lanes.For 4 lanes and more, up to 4 measuring points along each lane (total 16) may be configured. A measuring point is a line that is crossing the lane at a 90 degree angle. The lines may be used as detection points, effectively representing inductive loops for measuring vehicle presence near intersections. The statistics function provides per lane volume, occupancy, classification, vehicle presence, wrong way detection and more.

The sensor may be used as a single standalone unit ormultiple sensors can be connected in a network such as may be applicable in a four way intersection. Four antenna versions are available for optimum coverage at different installations; five interface options (CAN, RS485,Ethernet (POE), WiFi and relay contacts) are available.
